A Saginaw mother of five uses coupons to cash in at the grocery store
Have you priced a gallon of milk lately? Seriously, it’s neck-and-neck with a gallon of gas. With grocery prices going up, we’ve all started wincing at the checkout counter. And spending more than ever.
Well, actually — don’t let this make you feel like a sucker, but Ruth Garrett isn’t.
The Saginaw mother of five clipped coupons for years, saving 35 cents here, 50 cents there. But a few years ago, when she realized her family was spending $200 a week on groceries, Garrett decided to get serious about coupons. Now she’s a pro. And thanks to her crazy coupon skills, she can bring home groceries, personal-care products and household necessities for herself, her husband, her five children, three cats and a dog, all for $70 a week. Tops.

My good bloggy friend Alyssa is hosting a giveaway. Its time to show and tell your coupon binder. Go HERE to her blog and add a link to your coupon binder post to Mr. Linky. There is no word on what the prize will be but she promises it will be a good one! Good Luck everyone I will be sure to enter my pretty pink coupon binder.

Tacke it Tuesday

After taking last Tuesday off I was super pumped to tackle this project......

Organizing my coupons & Sale Ads!
I saw a post on Keeping the Kingdom First about her coupon binder and it inspired me to make my own binder. The organizing system I was using was a big red tub where I keep sale ads and coupons that I had not clipped or ones the I clipped but had not filed and I had a small binder with several tabs and playing card holders for sorting and filing. As you could imagine this system didn't work! I was so excited when I saw Alyssa video post about her coupon binder, her system of organizing is easy easy easy!

This is my new Pretty Pink binder I got at Target it was kinda high for $14.00 but I love Pink!

This binder isn't only pretty it has many great organizing tools.............
A zipper pouch where I can keep my scissors, paper clips, pencil, marker, and calculater.

Files pocket to store my sale ads.

I sorted them into generic categories.

WOOHOO I love my new binder this will save me allot of time when I am prepping for my shopping trips,Thanks Alyssa!!!!

My Favorite Things

My Favorite thing this week is our Weather Alert Radio. My husband had saw this being mentioned on the news and decided to go out and purchase one at Walgreens for $5.00. The Weather Alert Radio lets you know when you are under any warnings for severe weather. When a tornado, Flash flood, or thunderstorm warning is issued in our county an alarm goes of followed by a voice telling you what type of warning you are under.

I placed my weather radio on my night stand, hidden behind a lamp. I sleep much better knowing its there in case a tornado warning is issued in the middle of the night.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Let me introduce my sexy husband Britt......Today is his 37th birthday!
I first met Britt when I was 14 years old. I was going out to eat for one of my best friends birthday and Britt being her brother was there as well. At the time Britt was a bit older but that didn't stop my school girl crush from developing.Fast forward 4 years later now of legal age lol, I decided to call and ask him out. Of coarse when I called I dialed his number about 50 times before I actually let it ring, then when I finally did decided to let it ring I prayed for his voicemail! HUGE RELIEF VOICEMAIL!! Britt called me back later that night and we have been together every since, hard to believe that was almost 10 years ago!Britt is the most amazing husband, loving father,he loves life & Jujitzu,

And he is the best person I know!

Another one bites the dust!

A couple months back we bought this really awesome fish tank. I have never been a big fish fan in the past so I was a little unsure about getting the tank at first. My sweet little man loves fish! Every time mt son sees a fish his little face lights up he points with excitement and says shish, so because of that I was willing to give the whole fish tank thing a try. Having this fish tank has been so much fun, it is a great family project. I will admit it was costly to set up but not to maintain. We have bought 19 fish so far and have lost 5. This Morning I woke up to find another one of our fishy friends laying in the bottom of the tank :( Now we are down to 13 fish......

My Favorite Things

Its Tuesday again which means its time for My Favorite Things at Fiddledeedee.

My favorite thing this week is my handy Scrubber sponge on a stick. I bought this cleaning scrubber when I was pregnant and couldn't lean over our garden bathtub to clean it. I love this scrubber sponge it is shaped perfect to get into corners and the extender handle helps me get up high in the shower. I no longer get on my knees and lay over the tub to clean it. This scrubber make cleaning showers and tubs easy easy easy!!! I purchased my scrubber at Wal-mart for around $10 I know that seem high but believe me it is worth every single penny!
