I had such a similar experience yesterday. Bought my son's friend a birthday present. Forgot wrapping paper and such. Wasn't close to home. Asked for 5 plastic bags at Toys R Us. Put the toy in and put each bag a different direction, so it would require some effort to open--and would prevent him from seeing through. Red Rover's gift was the hit of the party. You should have seen the way this kid squealed with laughter as he "unwrapped" it. The entire party erupted in giggles. And I wondered why I EVER buy wrapping paper.
Funny, huh?
It is my first time to your blog. Came over from Sammi's site. Glad I stopped by.

this is so true!!! My son would pick a spatula over a toy anyday!
My son likes to play with empty water bottles and CVS flyers--I joke that he is helping me with my coupons:-)
Don't you wish this idea stayed with you when you get older. Simple things in life are always the best!!
Have fun buddy!
